I have moved over 20 times in my life and never used a moving company. When we made plans to move from San Diego to Texas we decided to splurge and hire a moving company. I spent a lot of time on the phone with America's Choice moving and they gave us the best estimate so I went with them. I spent a lot of time on the phone with the representative, going through each room of the house and describing what we had so I assumed that she knew what she was doing and when she gave me the estimate of $3200 I was thrilled. When the movers finally came the day of the move, three hours late, the driver went through the house and told us that there was no way that the estimate that was given was correct and that the price was going to be double. But we were stuck at this point because we had made all our plans and what we were going to do, would we do turn them away and go and rent a truck and do it ourselves? So we decided to just go ahead with it and hope for the best. By 10 o'clock it was clear they had not sent a truck big enough for our stuff. So we decided that we had to rent an additional trailer and also purchase a hitch for our pickup truck to carry the rest of our items across the country. We got on the road that weekend and while we were on the road apparently they had sent me an email saying that we needed to complete a credit card authorization. But how would I fill out a form on my cell phone? Well I wasn't expecting this form so I never saw it until we got to Texas and when I called America's Choice moving they told me that since I haven't completed this form they had not sent out our items. The mover the night of the load up told me that they would be hoping to deliver our items on the 5th which was 5 days after they had loaded up the truck. When I called them they said that since I hadn't completed this form that our stuff would be late. In the meantime they sent me yet another form and I had no computer, no printer, no furniture, no clothes, no nothing in our empty house, how was I going to complete yet another form and get this to them? They didn't care. Here it is a week later and we still have no items and now they are telling us it could be up to 21 days before we received our stuff. Never use this moving company what a nightmare!!!
