We had a great experience with Mayflower moving us across the country and into storage. We hired "Ideal Moving and Storage" to move us out of storage and into our newly built home. The price was right, but that was about it. Four guys and two trucks were on time, but all except 1 were dressed in street clothes (pajamas) and worked very slowly. (The smallest, youngest guy was the most polite, professional, and hardest working.) They told me they normally didn't work weekends and were doing me a favor. They also told me they were chefs and only worked as movers on the side. They also rolled eyes or gave me an attitude when I asked for protective measures for my home surfaces or bed/couch installation, as well as when certain items needed to go up or down steps that they felt were heavy or would be difficult. They actually asked if they could just stack all of the boxes in the garage vs taking to specific rooms. The icing on the cake...my box of hardware (clearly labeled white box saying UTILITY CARTON) somehow made it on to the truck but never made it off. I checked every single thing that came off the truck, specifically looking for this box. (All after a phone call to the company regarding whether or not the movers were to install my beds/cribs/etc if I asked them too as part of their service and hourly price. One of the movers argued with me telling me they didn't do that and it was an extra charge. Well, he was wrong, and wasn't happy about being told to do so.) Alas, they unloaded, closed up trucks, and wanted me to sign them off and complete their service. I requested to search the trucks, and low and behold, I find my Hardware box in a cardboard carton on their truck, under used shrink wrap, bungee straps, and pads. How convenient. This, under the circumstances, seemed intentional. How sad. Most of the hardware was irreplacable and we were so happy that I found it. When speaking to the owner, there was never even an apology offered. Long story short, it left a bad taste in our mouths at the end of the day and provided a strong distrust in the company. There was also some damage to our wood floors, and a couple of furniture items. (All 3 of which the movers denied doing, but there was no instance of damage prior to them removing them from storage.)
