I am writing this post to protect anyone who is considering using PLATINUM VAN LINES for their move. I am not happy with their service. The most important reason is how they are handling – or more accurately NOT handling – my damaged property. They do not handle any damage claims themselves. They have outsourced this task to an outside company that has informed me they handle 1800 moving companies. They are backlogged to last October. So they tell me that they don’t foresee getting to my claim for about FOUR MONTHS. Meanwhile, I cannot unpack the clothes that go in my damaged dresser. Very inconvenient, to say the least. What ever happened to professional responsibility: Platinum moved my goods; Platinum damaged my goods; Platinum should repair my goods. Instead, they have farmed it out to a separate company. I can’t imagine or at least I hope that Platinum doesn’t have that many damage claims. So if they handled this themselves, I might see my dresser repaired in say, a month. But because they have outsourced this task, I have to wait four months.
ALSO – when you call this company, press SALES and your call is answered right away; press CUSTOMER SERVICE and it rings and rings - and does not go to voice mail. And be careful if you call back and tell them you are upset that they haven’t returned your calls. I did so and got a stern lecture about how RUDE I was.
** UPDATE 3/3/2014: I am sorry to report that Platinum Moving Lines has not come through as I thought they would. They damaged an expensive piece of furniture but say their limit is $90 to have it repaired. The closest estimate I've gotten is $245. I am very dismayed, to say the least. **

are giving me $200 instead of $90. My repair is costing $245, so they
almost paid for the entire repair. **
