We signed our contract with Steve Bonnichsen who had just won salesman of the year and was going to Hawaii as reward. He said call for anything which I did in several days and was told "I'm on my way out of town this weekend, thanks for the update, anything else?" This call was to answer his request for pack/load dates regarding our move. A call from the customer service person Kevin Skipworth came in confirming our pack/load day and said he would advise time frame which was never done, a call from me requesting confirmation received an "oh, I was just wondering myself…" he had to contact me back which did not happen. The weekend prior to our move we realized we needed more boxes and went about the contractually suggested manner, phone calls to both the sales person, the customer support person, copied emails to both, and just in case, a call to the corporate answering line for help as suggested. No response but a curt email from salesman Steve stating "I wish I knew earlier (?) I'm not sure I can help you, I'll do my best." We never heard from Steve, salesman of the year again. The morning of our pack/load day our cross country packing team from Prager never showed up. The cross country truck and team of 2 gentlemen from Celina Ohio Atlas Agency packed and loaded our move, calling in to corporate Atlas for support from Prager Naperville. At 4pm two disgruntled Prager employees showed up at our doorstep with additional boxes. The one broke a piece of a frame from an heirloom mirror saying it "fell off" at which point he tells me his wife is in labor and he was on the way to the hospital. They stayed roughly an hour rushing through packing some of our valued items. I felt as if we were never contractually signed clients, we didn't matter, much less signed on for a "move support team" with this group. Prager Naperville had never followed up with exception of one phone call several days after our pack/load day while we were caravanning across the country to our new home. Kevin Skipworth claimed ignorance of the no-show crew, was unapologetic without explanation, defensive of his actions, then speaking lies to our realtor, who had recommended for us to use Prager, when she called to file a complaint with Kevin. Prager has new management I have since learned. Research, call references, do your homework prior to signing anything for this group to handle your move. Celina Ohio cross country agency employees were professional, courteous, and most helpful. My recommendation is to contract with them.

Prager Moving & Storage Co Reviews - 5
Prager/ Atlas will not honor damage claim. Prager damaged a marble table top during my move from Illinois to Wisconsin. They recommended a company to crate the marble piece before it was moved. The piece was crated in Prager's presence, they loaded it on the truck, they drove it to my new home, they unloaded it and when it was uncrated it was cracked in half. They denied my damage claim, trying to blame the crating company they recommended and oversaw the crating process. The job foreman said the damaged was caused by the crate being laid flat when it was unloaded. Do not believe that they will honor the "Full Value Replacement" they so strongly promote during the sales process. Buyer Beware!
This was our 4th move (previous 3 times we used a different company) and it was the worst moving experience ever. They broke items, lost or "missplaced" items valued at more than $400. The insurance we bought was useless and they did not bother to try to help us at all. The final price was 1/4 more than the initial quote. We had them pack as well and it was a nightmare finding anything (items from different rooms were mixed up and the labeling was useless). Avoid this place like the plague!
We used Prager for the 3rd time in 6 years. Previous two moves went smoothly. This time, completely different. (Delays, damages and lost items).3rd time is a "charm" I guess. BEWARE! No focus on respect, owner won't return your phone call to discuss issues, and they will damage your goods with or without extra insurance. Look elsewhere because this company has no regard for customer satisfaction. They simply want your money.
We used Prager for a long distance move a few years ago and were very happy, so we tried them for a recent local move. A $600 item was stolen or went missing during the move - we don't have it.
Prager claimed that we misplaced the item - would not accept responsibility for the loss, and indicated that they have no policy for an item going missing during a move. They suggested we file a police report. And, they did not do anything to make it right - we even said we'd accept a few hundred dollars toward replacement of the item - and they wouldn't budge.
During the ordeal, the customer service was slow, and I had to repeatedly call them with several days going by without hearing from them when they'd said they'd get back to me.
