Horrible experienceby Paul C.

We moved from Minnesota to Florida! We made a mistake of booking w/E-Zmovers and couldn’t get our down payment back after 3 days; the price they quoted us was not really true and they charged us $500 more when they got to the house claiming that the reclining chairs were miss represented as rocking chairs (being lighter with less mass) in the quote when we clearly indicated they were reclining chairs. They showed up on the day they said they would arrive and loaded our stuff, but they actually count up to 10 business days from the date you stated you want the stuff delivered so we finally got our stuff 2 ½ weeks later. At delivery, they switched trucks from EZ-mover truck to an Allied semi-truck. When we unpacked our belongings, we discovered a box was missing and the boxes that were delivered had several souvenirs plates, cups, glasses broken to pieces and also some tools and quality hardware were missing. PLEASE do not go with this company- they will screw you over with the price and they ruin your items. When they send you a claim form to submit, it doesn’t even work, I had to redo the form so we can fill out our claim and submit. Once submitted, they did not pay us for any damages stating that they are only liable for the missing box. We’re still waiting for the claim reimbursement they said they would refund us back to our credit card. They said it should be completed by end of November, but it’s January, and no measly refund yet until we reminded claims dept. where’s the credit and they finally paid. Please choose other moving companies!

Do NOT use E-Z Movers!by mark c.

E-Z Movers repacked all items that were initially packed per their verbal & contractual direction to "make work" and increase profit. Cost of move was increased 20% and company refused to resolve issue until 30 days after last payment was received. This dispute is still in resolution with my credit card company but given that a cash payment is required to receive your household goods, E-Z Movers has structured payments to get whatever they want to charge you. Don't be fooled by the E-Z Movers sales representative professional disposition. They will provide you with a competitive offer and then jack up the price so you end up paying more than the highest bidder offer.

Poor Communicationby Jon F.

I scheduled a move with EZ movers for Dec 27th - 29th. Since I no longer lived in the location for the pickup we told them that we had a friend who would be happy to open up our storage unit for them. We were assured she would only have to open it, sign something and then she could go. Turns out they made her stick around until they fully loaded the truck in -10 degree weather.

They were able to pull the truck right up to the unit, but marked one of the forms that they had a long carry of 118 feet. They wanted to charge an additional $200 for this. The problem was that the drivers did not speak much English, and I thought they were charging more because there was more stuff, than expected which I was fine with. It was cold and dark, and my friend signed the forms put in front of her assuming I had already agreed to it.

When I found out what I was being charged for I challenged it. My friend confirmed that they only had about 10 feet to walk and not the 118 they stated on the form. The customer service rep Kelly Reed told me she would open a case and it was more than 9 days later before I got a response (which I had to initiate) Basically they said because she signed the form I was committed. Interestingly when the movers (different drivers) arrived at my home in California they told me there should be a video of the measuring of the distance. When I asked Mrs. Reed for this info I was ignored.

On the arrival I was not informed they would be showing up until the night before, which I feel was unacceptable. I should have been given a 3 day window like I did for the pickup.

The movers on that end were not very professional. They asked me a bunch of questions about what I paid for things and about my rent. This made me very uncomfortable. One of the drivers even peeked in my medicine cabinet, and commented on the type of Omega 3 vitamins that were in there. Creeped me out!

Today I received a survey request from Mrs. Reed and I filled it out honestly, and I got this in response:

Mr. Fortner,

Again, your long carry was on the Binding Estimate, on a separate long carry form, and also itemized on the Bill of lading at the pickup. If your proxy did not approve, there was an option to cancel services. I understand that you were not happy with not receiving a discount on this service, but we are unable to provide a discount per all levels of management at EZ Movers. Services ordered were performed. I am sorry if you felt that anyone at EZ Movers including the movers or office staff were less than professional. However, thank you for your feedback and best wishes to you in your future endeavors.

The only good thing this company had going for it was the cost. For the whole move including the up-charge of $200.00 I paid about $1700 for 78 items to be moved from Cleveland, OH to Oceanside, CA.
