Roy's Moving Company Reviews - 2

The one star is only because I can’t give them zero. This company is horrendous, and it is a scam. DO NOT USE ROYS. I moved on Sept 1, but was in the hospital unforeseen when the move date came (luckily my wife and brother in law were there to help). They showed up 2 hours late and with 5 guys instead of the original 3. The final charge ended up being twice as much as the quote (please email me if you don’t believe me, I have the receipt and quote email – They also charged us $150 in tape, despite all the boxes being taped already. The movers ended up stealing my dewalt cordless power drill, utility knife, post leveler, and stud finder. I brought this to their attention on Sept 15 (after I got out of the hospital and unpacked everything). When I brought this up to Owen, he located the drill and said it would be delivered next week. When it wasn’t, he passed me on to Elio. Elio claimed he was the owner and was extremely rude; he denied his workers ever stealing anything and said it was impossible. He also said he could not mail the drill because it was a time of Jewish holidays. We went back and forth for weeks. On 10/6 he told me, he would mail it 10/13. On 10/13 he told me he would mail it 10/14. On 10/14 he told me he mailed it and would get me the tracking info. On 10/17, 10/18, 10/19 he kept saying the same thing, “you will get your drill, I will get you the confirmation tonight.” By 10/21 I still did not have the drill or a tracking number. WE WERE 7 WEEKS AFTER THE MOVE AND THEY STILL HAD NOT RETURNED MY BELONGINGS – IT WAS LITERALLY THEFT. I’d had enough at this point and took time out of my schedule to drive to their office and address this in person. Owen was there and put me on the phone with Elio. Elio was rude as usual and stated, “Unlike you who doesn’t do anything all day, I am very busy can will get you the information when I can.” Elio also threatened to take me to court for harassment . I was then passed off to Stephanie who was much more reasonable and kind. She promised it was mailed and that it would be delivered on 10/24 or I’d at least get the tracking info. It is now 10/28 and the drill is still not here, nor do I have the tracking info. Thank goodness for Owen. After that phone call Owen cut me a check for the amount of the drill (but not the other 3 stolen items). In the end I was reimbursed because I went to the office and refused to leave without payment or the drill. They lied to me for 8 weeks stating the drill was mailed when it never actually was.

Zero Damageby

I used an online service and received 4 quotes. Roy Moving's estimated time was half of everyone else's. However the total time (charge) came out to be the same as everyone else's. They were misleading in the estimated time. However they worked hard and did a "great" job wrapping and loading the truck. I had damage in the past so I watched this time to make sure they took proper care and they did. I'd definitely use them again.
