This was the most pleasant moving experience. My move was a move from DE to FL. I had a couple of different salespeople come into my home to give me an estimate. Moving consultant from United National Moving & Storage was very pleasant, she was punctual, and extremely informative. She gave me a checklist of things that I needed to do prior to moving. She gave me an estimate for transporting my goods and another estimate for packing all of my stuff as well. My estimate was to take 850 cu ft . She explained that the packing was at extra cost and gave me some tips on packing myself. There were some items that I did not want to pack like my good china, and pictures. She told me that if I was to pack them, their liability is very limited to any damage. I decided that they could pack the things that I was most concerned with. Packing & Loading Day When the driver and his crew came to my home, they were right on time. They were pleasant and were very friendly towards each other. You could tell that they all liked each other and they like to work together. I have moved myself before this and was expecting this to be an all day event. They packed all of the things that I had told Arleen I wanted packed. They disassembled my beds and my daughter's crib. They started to load all of my belongings onto the truck, (which was down 3 flights of stairs and up 2 flights. I lived in a condo with no elevator) without any complaining!! I hated walking those stairs every day, I can only imagine what it was like to move my couches and big TV on those stairs. I was amazed! I bought them all pizza and soda for lunch, I thought they would like to take a break, but to my surprise they ate and went right back to work! Stas, Jamel, & Jamie were in and out of my condo in less than 6 hours. I had recently had the whole place painted, spiral staircase and all, and not 1 scratch, dent or mark on the walls! Delivery The drive to the new house was over 1000 miles. When delivery guys came in to look around and take note to where everything was going they took note of the newly refinished hardware floors. told me at the beginning that I should get some old cardboard to put down in the high traffic areas. I forgot. Ingus said no problem, they had some materials on the truck that they could lay down. He used some old cartons and blue foam-type runners on the high traffic areas. Let me tell you, no problems with the floors. My stuff was being unloaded faster then I could keep up with. My rooms were small so I was concerned with the way the furniture would fit. Ingus and Eugen were very helpful with their "design" ideas. I had a loose leg on my tall dresser in my bedroom. He pointed it out to me right away and noted it on my paperwork. That was the only thing damaged in my whole move. I gave the guys all a tip and they were very gracious! Best thing of all my estimate was a few hundred extra just because i forgot to mention a few items i had in storage . No surprises at all. I was very nervous to use a moving company, you always hear so many stories. I wish 20/20 would do an episode on United National Moving & Storage to show what a good company is supposed to do! My damage was handled so quickly, the guy from the office called me and said he would ask the guys to fix the dresser. My dealings with United National have been great. I have recommended them to 2 people that I know. One used them and had a similar dealing. One went with a cheaper company and did not have the same luck. I guess it is true, you get what you pay for!

My wonderful moveby Alex B.

i was moving from W Palm Beach ,FL to New York. There is nothing more I hate than moving. Hesitated calling moving companies since so many of them quote one rate and you end up paying much more.
From the moment I began speaking with Alex , my stress seem to have disappeared. He gave me all the step by step details and sent me a quote while on the phone with him. Although at the time of my call, I wasn't sure where exactly we were moving to or the exact date, he told me that they will make our move happen.

When I called Alex three weeks later with the date and address, he remembered me and pulled up our account immediately. He set everything up and told me that his guys would be by on Friday and they were there right on time.
I have never seen such AMAZING and EFFICIENT workers anywhere!!! They all had a smile on their face and were very helpful. Every single piece of furniture, lamp, painting, vase and anything else you can think of was wrapped carefully and taped to prevent any damage.

Every piece of furniture was arranged in the room they belonged and my move was easy and stress free because of this company. What Alex had quoted never changed. He even checked up to make sure everything was going well.

Thank you Alex and all the men that work with you. You guys are INCREDIBLE! I have never seen anyone work as hard as your guys! Congratulations!

A Bad, Bad Experienceby Kevin C.

My wife and I moved our stuff (about a two bedroom apartment worth) from PA to IL. Throughout, we found this company completely unprofessional and while (most of) our stuff got here unscathed, we'd urge anyone looking to move to look elsewhere. I'l just pick a few of the many disappointing things about this company and move and let you decide:

First, it is extremely difficult to get in touch with folks at this company. They have a phone number for reasons I don't understand, because no one seems to pick up the phone. Out of maybe 20 times I called their offices during the move (mostly to try and get hold of someone) I reached an actual person once.

Next, since our estimate had a five day window for delivery, we requested that they call us as soon as they could narrow anything down (mostly so that we could cordinate our arrival with theirs). They did not do this. We drove out based on their estimation that their truck would be there on June 15. Not only did they not call us before then, they only called a few days after that date to tell us that the truck was leaving the next day (leaving us in a hotel room for three more nights).

While they will tell you that our delivery was on time, that depends on what we mean by on-time. They showed up on the last possible day specified by the contract, well after the close of business. The truck arrived at 7:30 PM, and since only two movers were in it - that's right, no foreman - they didn't leave until around 11:30 at night (and, yes, the truck hydraulics kept both of our neighbors awake). Since there were only two men, my family unwrapped the furniture to speed up the process, and NO inventory was done by the company of what was delivered. (When I complained, the 'customer service' agent said to me (direct quote): “A few more hours won't make a big difference in your life.” If this is the kind of customer service you want, by all means, United National is your company!

Oh, and United National will tell you that they own their trucks. I can't say this isn't true, but I suspect it isn't; both our pick up and delivery were done with Enterprise rental trucks. They also told us, by e-mail, that we didn't need to purchase full replacement insurance, because they would cover up to $10,000 cargo insurance. Whether we want to call this a lie or a strategic omission of the truth is your call; we found out the hard way that their included insurance is NOT replacement insurance.

So, there it is. This move was unpleasant and I will certainly not be dealing with United National again. The only good thing I can say is that almost all of our stuff arrived. But there are many other movers who can move your stuff with (I'd have to imagine) less hassle and headaches.
