Moved from KC, MO to Springfield, VA (DC Area) in 2 part move. We were encouraged to self pack by the salesman, who then also encouraged us to consider the full coverage insurance....When it came time to file a claim for the tempered glass top to coffee table that was broken claim denied since item not packed by North American. Now you would think someone would have pointed out to us that since we were doing 90% of packing ourselves (in fact Kings North American sold us the boxes) but did not inform us that don't bother with insurance since you are self packing.
2nd move was scheduled 4 months ahead of pack date. Day before they were supposed to load they wanted to postpone for 3 days because they did not have a driver/truck available. We had to be out of our house that day so that resulted in them having to pickup our load and move to warehouse.
Do not trust what any salesman tells you. Do not trust drivers they will do all they can to stack boxes to hide any damage.
I would never recommend North American to anyone. I would definitely never recommend Kings Moving and Storage. This is the 5th interstate move that my wife and I have done and it was by far the worst experience. Yes there estimate was lower than the competition just another example of you may get what you pay for.
