Local Movers, LLC Reviews - 1

2 out of 5
Terrible service and no supervisionby Dianna P.

This company placed flyers all over my apartment complex containing approximate prices explaining labor costs, truck fees and average costs of moving 1 to 3 bedroom apartments. I spoke with the "owner" Jeremy three times prior to the move and he returned my phone calls in a timely manner if I left message. The costs were very reasonable and he took all the specifics as to how many beds I need broke down, what type of furniture I had and how many boxes and the size of the boxes. He told me that it should be a simple move and the most it should cost me would be $300.
The day of he move they showed up on time however, the 2 man crew was concerning to say the least. One was in his 50's smoking a cigarette and the other was young, fit but also smoking a cigarette. The "owner" drove the moving truck and only got out of the air conditioning truck to have me sign paper work at the beginning and end of the move. It was a 90 degree day with high humidity and neither of the men had water to drink. They continued to ask for something to drink from me and took numerous smoke breaks. The move took from 1:15 pm till 7pm. Neither of the movers used proper technique when picking up boxes or moving heavy furniture. They did not have back braces for support either. The 2 movers were in no hurry because they were being paid by the hour. We began to help them move my furniture so we could get the move finished. In the end I paid $100 more that I was told and it took 6 hours to move a small 2 bedroom apartment. I was just thankful that all my stuff got moved without one of the movers suffering from a heart attack or dehydration. In one word it was pitiful!!
