I chose this company based on their reviews and could not regret it more. I could maybe get over their HORRENDOUS customer service (the sales manager, Suzette) if they provided good moving services, but unfortunately, both are the worst I have ever experienced.
Unless you want to be out nearly a grand to move a few things down the street and have your furniture badly damaged, I highly recommend you go on Groupon and use K&T MOVING AND DELIVERY. We used this company for the rest of our move and I could not be happier! For $89, we were able to move everything in under two hours. This company knew where to park, was good at communicating when they would arrive and they were super friendly. It was so great, we ended up tipping over 25%.
Here is why you should NEVER HIRE ATB MOVING:
- Suzette failed to inform me that their time starts when the drivers depart for your place. So they started charging me at 8 a.m. even though they didn't get there and begin moving until 9:45 a.m. So I had already been charged $220 for them to do nothing.
They claimed they couldn't figure out where to park, but I was standing out on the street the entire time waiting for them. Had they been in the correct area, I could have directed them. Instead, I waited outside for nearly 45 minutes (on a morning I was working from home). And when I called to see where they were, no one answered.
One of the guys spent about 20 minutes blowing up my toilet. When you're charging me out the ass for your services, I expect you to maintain control of yours. Not to mention the unbearable smell.
They were supposed to have parked in the garage right by the freight elevator, which would have made for an easy move. This is where we parked with our U-Haul when moving in, which is why I checked with Suzette before finalizing the booking that their truck would fit. She assured me it would. However, they did not follow my instructions and parked very far away, causing them to be gone for 30+ minutes every time they made a trip to the truck. - For some reason that they couldn't explain, it took them 45 minutes to get to our new house, when it only took me 15 minutes, but we let that slide.
When my boyfriend called Suzette to explain what happened and said we would like a partial refund for the hour and 45 minutes it took them to find our place (since we were not told we would be charged for this AND it's not our fault they can't follow directions), she immediately became enraged. She said she didn't know why it took them that long since she's in the office and not in the field. She began yelling saying there was nothing she could do about it and wouldn't let him get a word in edgewise. After repeatedly asking who would be able to do something about it, she said she would have a guy who works in the field and communicates with the drivers call him. We gave them some leeway since the holiday weekend was coming up and we were leaving town. However, after several days of not hearing from them, I called and was yelled at by Suzette from the very beginning of the call, where she would not even let me explain how they had completely scratched and chipped my bookshelf before she hung up on me (It looks like they dragged my bookshelf across the ground.)
Let me remind you, we were only asking for a PARTIAL refund of the hour and 45 minutes unaccounted for. This company would rather lose a customer than refund a mere $110. Pathetic.
