I don't know if it was my fault or the movers but a 4-6 hour estimated job ended up taking 8 hours + another 2 to clean my old apartment.
I was originally planning to move from my apartment to one right down the hall, but that apartment got claimed before I could put down a deposit for it, so I got an apartment across the parkng lot.
When I first moved to my 1-bdrm apartment it took probably 2 hours tops to move my stuff from one apartment to another one about 2 miles away.
But nonetheless the job got done. Well most of it.
I thought I had asked to have it packed, moved, cleaned, and unpacked.
They did everything but unpack. So now I'm here in my apartment surrounded by a sea of boxes. But at least I'm not having to pay more to have my stuff unpacked. Well I'm not paying in money. I'm paying in time.
My biggest complaint about the packing was that I have already found things that never should have been at the bottom of a box i.e. artist canvas should never ever ever be under approx. 20 pounds of art supplies. Some of my watercolor paintings were rumpled due to things being stacked on them. And I had to throw away some of my kitchenware (chipped/broken glass and plastic) that was at the bottom of boxes. Not a whole lot of things, but still... If they were placed better I'm pretty sure they would've made it.
The next biggest complaint is that they forgot to pack 2 drawers of my kitchen and also the pans under the stove, but that's understandable. There were quite a few things that needed packing.
Some things that really saved this company from getting a lower score is
-They were able to work on short notice
-They showed up exactly 30 minutes after they called me to tell me they'd be there in 30 minutes
So final say:
I wish I had more time before my move. I would've been able to pack things myself and that would've saved an immense amount of time of the movers part and the heartache on mine.
But if I was better prepared I would probably use these guys again. Maybe.
I give them a B.
