This was a huge example of bait and switch and the worst treatment we have ever experienced for any company. They charged us over double of what we were quoted. Our move was due to illness and we were not moving the items into a house, but we had to store our items in a storage unit for close to a year. We have just moved those items into our new home. I should have written a review about how bad the initial move was. They misquoted, were more than rude, the furniture did not get delivered in the 7-14 days quoted. It was over 30 days before we got anything. We had almost no clothes with us and we had two small children without their clothes and toys. Now a year later, we see that not only were we over charged, mistreated, items delivered a month late, horrible, horrible service, we also have so much damage to our furniture it is unbelievable. They actually broke items that had to have been intentional. Three legs broken off the little girls dresser. Not repairable. Marble topped dressed is cracked, there is huge chunk broken off the side, Mattress ruined, crates broken open, one box of collectables so badly damaged they had to be thrown away, an antique fishing pole broken into three pieces. So obviously intentional. It was in our family for over 50 years and had never been broken. Of course the "insurance" they have is by the pound not by the item's value. I would not recommend this company to anyone. There is no one I dislike that much. With our new move we just completed, it shows such a contrast. Our new movers were exactly what they said they were. Efficient, courteous, careful with our items and totally professional. American Knights Moving and Storage were as bad as the reviews I had read about them. Unfortunately I did not see the reviews until after our nightmare experience. I hope my review will save even one family from the horrors of a bad move. I wish I had the photos to upload. I was so devastated I did not even think to take pictures. The only good thing they did was plastic wrap a sofa extremely well and it was not damaged. They did not wrap one other piece of furniture. so many scratches and chips.

very friendly and helpful with assisting in our moving needs.
Their onsite estimate was spot on, planning was done to the perfection and the execution was even better.
The office staff was excellent with confirming my move and taking care of all the insurance paperwork that my building required to move-out.
they were timely, reliable and followed up before during and after the couch was delivered.
This is really a very good company. Keep it up.
If you want to pay someone to break, steal, lose, and damage MOST of your things AND you like the idea of mice/rats building a nest in your boxes while in the care of said movers, then use this company. They found me through some internet form I filled out. After speaking with Dwayne Lockett several times about my specific needs and getting his assurance,l contracted with AKMS to move me from Cincinnati to Houston on 9/27/13. I needed them to pack my things, two months of storage in Houston, and was pretty set on my delivery date (new job). NOTHING That the sales rep told me turned out to be true. The first issue was that after they loaded truck, they changed the price by more than $1k! Second, unbeknownst to me, they took my things 4 hours north to Cleveland to store it. After that, I never heard from them. They failed to answer calls or emails for the entire two months. I called and called and called to confirm my delivery date. I eventually made my way over to their office in Houston. I was horrified by how crowded and dilapidated it was and suspected then, my things were not in good hands. 5 days late, my things arrived. When they opened the truck, my things started falling off the truck. I watched in horror as my piano came off missing its front two legs. That was only the beginning. They lost the legs and screws to MOST of my furniture. My canopy was in pieces. The supports for my beds were missing. I had tables without legs. All of my wall pictures were broken. Plastic bins were simply in pieces. The worst part was that I opened one of my wardrobes and noticed a horrible smell--like rodents. My leather bags had holes and my blankets were in tatters. When I got to the bottom of the box, I found a rodents nest!!! Instead of being the least bit apologetic or sympathetic to my staggering losses, this company's managers have threatened to "come to my home," and even dared me to call the police. I have yet heard from one person from this company apologizing for what happened to me. They act as if I inconvenienced THEM when I reported them to the Attorney General, BBB, and DOT. I have countless video and picture evidence. I doubt that "extra insurance" I paid for is even legitimate.
