When I booked with the moving specialist, Annie, she did not explain to me that once our stuff was loaded on a truck it would be taken to Austin and unloaded in a warehouse and re-loaded on a different truck.
If I had known that, I would not have booked with Compass. That's alot of handling of our stuff and it def showed. Annie also told me that with picking our stuff on a Wednesday, it should def be at our new place by Saturday. Well once I was done with her, I was moved over to the dispatcher, Lori. She then proceeded to tell us that our stuff wouldn't even get to our new place until Thursday of the next week. So it was picked up on Wednesday and sat in Austin in their warehouse for 5 days before it was loaded on another truck.
The guys that did finally deliver it were from another company (which we did not know until after our stuff had been picked up). They were nice and professional. But you could tell that some of the boxes were damaged from being moved so many times. Luckily for us the only thing broken was a bowel and a couple of glasses.
Overall, not a great experience. If they had been open and honest from the beginning, it would have not been so bad.
Compass Van Lines Corp
I am sorry you did not have a good experience and that a bowel and glasses were broken . If you would like to read the contract we do state that delivery takes between 3-14 days from your first available delivery date. And all moving companies by law can take up to 21 because of floods, snow ect. Compass did deliver the items as well. We have 3 sister companies under the Compass Umbrella. If you had damages we do have coverage if we did the packing please let us know if you want to make a claim and we will be able to replace those items.
