"Would have rather moved myself. "Review of Texas Van Lines
TEXAS VAN LINES... AKA WORST MOVING CO.
I tried finding the company on Yelp, not on there, tried finding the company on Facebook, not on there. I am yet to hear back from anybody..... below is the full email I sent them...
To whom it may concern,
Please advise who I need to contact regarding missing items from our delivery that was done on December 11, 2017, property ----.
Also, there were several damaged items, just from doing a general overview.
I haven't unpacked all of my boxes, however I know several items will be damaged/ irreplaceable. We are missing a few boxes from the inventory list, my step ladder, my red 3 seat sleeper sofa. In addition, our dining table which was my husband's Grandmother's table, that was fully restored in 2012 as a gift for my husband, now has damaged legs where the connectors go. (Pictures attached).
I wouldn't recommend this process to anyone. I wanted a stress free process, since I do have an autoimmune disorder, and wouldn't want to risk a Flare-up.
I should have had the "movers" just take my belongings off the truck in Texas, when my instincts told me to. However, I listened to the "movers" who assured me that I would be in good hands.
I was told that my items would be taken apart, and be placed together apon apprival. Once the driver arrived in California, who was with another company, agrued with me regarding where to park. He ended up parking in the other parking lot across from my apartment. Once he parks there, he stated I needed to pay extra since it was a long carry. Which was incorrect because both driveways/parking lots were identical but he specifically picked the farthest one.
Once they started unloading, they had to use my ladder and my dolly. How is that a Moving Company doesn't carry their own equipment? What would've happened if the ladder and dolly were "misplaced" like my other items? Once we confirmed with the driver Mike, that items were missing, and items that they unloaded were not ours, he made a claim and proceeded to throw away a coffee table which didn't belong to us, and an inventory sticker was not on it.
Another question is, how many times are a persons items being thrown away? How is that the other inventory list wasn't checked, prior to tossing this table in the trash. How many items does your Company throw away or discard? Of course, your employees are probably smart enough not to use this moving service in fear of their belongings being damaged, missing, and thrown away.
This needs to be handled Today, and my couch needs to be delivered, along with my boxes & step ladder (which were probably thrown away). If my items are not returned then I will be expecting a refund.
