Who enjoys moving? No one. Moving under the best of circumstances comes already with stress. It is the handling of your personal belongings. That says it all. I moved forward with Olympus primarily because of the prompt attention, friendly and easy communication with a sales person within their organization (Samantha). She quoted and sold me on the amount of cubic feet I would be taking up on their truck based on the inventory I offered. Samantha was professional, efficient and easily accessible to any questions I had along the way (all in email and all in writing). My belongings which were transported from NY to FL were also delivered almost flawlessly. The treatment of my boxes and items was handled with care. Nothing was damaged. Nothing went missing. The logistics of the items from load to unload was done in an excellent manner. My issue with this company was primarily the Foremen - and I have to say unfortunately with the one at pick up (in NY). It was as if he were possessed with finding, looking and ultimately failing at presenting me with additional costs. Perhaps his pay is affected by whether he could up my rate. He insisted on trying to charge me on a "per piece basis" vs. on the cubic feet I was sold on. The Foreman at delivery also tried (although very subtle and non-aggressively) to look for additional charges. He thought he had to park the 18 ft truck on a street more than 75 feet away from my location when in reality he had the option and opportunity to park right in front of my doorway. Either way, I think it is fair to say "they tried" to up my quoted rate and that just puts you on the defensive and adds stress you don't need or want. My advice? Keep it all in writing. Be alert, be aware of all the details. Demand they show you how much space you are actually taking up. It is a shame because this company can do well on referrals alone due to how they handle the actual goods - very well put together operation. They fail in many other areas that force you to look for a company with a different and more honest approach. I recommend Lateral Movers (Tony was the owner way back when) but they would apply to only local FL moves. Do your homework, get more than quotes, read reviews and then cross your fingers. Sometimes you luck out and find good and honest people really looking for long term business vs the quick scam buck. Who enjoys moving? No one.....

Olympus Moving and Storage Reviews - 4
We needed to move a lot of stuff with a half-day's notice and these guys ready to accommodate our plan. They were very friendly and sent three reps to manage a task. They did a good job with packing, storing and reassembling all stuffs to our new place. Even they finished up completing the task in less time (what they communicate over phone) and followed all our instructions politely. Keep up the good work Olympus!
There was a time when I searched for so many packers and movers that I have lost count now. While I had a few bad experiences while shifting stuff for my younger brother, my faith has been reinstated by the Olympus Moving company. Not only did the representative give me a clean quote in person, the delivery guys also shipped my consignment promptly.
I recently transferred bag and baggage from Texas to Wyoming and the Olympus team did a good job at that. The best part was that I could fill in all the forms electronically and send the scanned documents in digitalized form. Three people escorted the truck and helped my rearrange all the stuff in my new home. Overall experience consisted of a pleasant affair with no delay in moving.
I had a similar experience as Michelle M. with my move from Queens to Phoenix AZ in the fact that my quote was for $1710 and would include basic disassemble and reassemble of my furniture but....the movers complained that they had to wrap my stuff and refused to disassemble my Raymour & Flanigan loveseat that was designed to be broken down into 4 parts, the mover told me a professional furniture man would have to do this, not him!! The day of the move I was pretty much packed. I even had my queen size mattress in three plastic bags but the guy insisted it had to be in a box. He prevented my friend from packing my two flat screen TV's, stating that now he was here with his men and would 'take care of me", translated that meant I was going to get screwed. I was told about two hours in, that I had surpassed my lines in the truck and would have to pay more. I was shown the lines but I really couldn't see how the truck was being packed and I really had to take the movers word that I had too much stuff, HA! I moved a mattress, love-seat, twin sleeper chair, small kitchen table, two bar stools, two kitchen chairs, 4 small bookcases, one small lingerie dresser and 30 boxes. All my stuff fits in a 8 X 5 storage shed here in Phoenix and...when the moving truck arrived, my stuff started at line 24 and ended at line 20 so that is 4 lines but I was charged $4000.00 rather than my original quote with Lisa Bell of $1710.00!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!!! The actual moving men were nice but Dee, the guy in charge of my move is a total scam artist. They start off real nice and you think they are going to be good to you but then the day of the move when you are exhausted from all the packing, they do their scamming. I packed for a week and they complained about my boxes and kept saying repeatedly that I had so much stuff. They had me so convinced, I got a 10 X 20 storage room only to have most of it empty!!!
Dee kept telling me in his french accent that he was doing me a favor because I had surpassed my limit and if I tipped his guys good, he would keep my move at $4000. They really get you because when you are ready to move, you are at a disadvantage. And, they don't unload unless you fork over a postal money order for the balance.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! OH AND OLYMPUS IF YOU WANT THIS REVIEW REMOVED, I WANT MY $2000 BACK!!!
