WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WITH A MOVING COMPANY!!! Hired them to move our furniture from our apartment to a new house. First thing they moved was our sleep number bed and did not take the time to take it apart to move it and ripped the mattress from the frame in the process. At the end of the move, one of the movers told us "we try and move quick so we can get a bigger tip at the end"and said "sorry for damaging your bed". He said the owner would take care of it for us. Followed up with the owner and they said they will only pay 60 cents per pound that was damaged. The bed cost us around $10,000 dollars and to replace the cover would be $1000. The owner said she would have to take possession of the bed and they would pay us 60 cents per pound that was damaged? So basically in order to get any money for damages, they would take our bed and give us a couple hundred dollars for it. Nightmare Experience!!!!
I'm very sorry that Mr. Janes was unhappy with his move. As you can see from the attached receipt, the movers explained in advance that the bed had the potential to be damaged and he signed a damage waiver, excluding Master Movers from liability. The company still offered to reimburse for the cover which was torn, not the bed. In a claim the cover would have been taken and replaced at $.60 per lb, not the $10,000 bed. The bed was not damaged.
