This should have been a simple neighbourhood move. It went $1000.00 over budget. Movers lied about time they arrived and finished. Issac (boss) demanded that I buy crew expensive lunch two days in a row. Calls to office did nothing. Bookcases were not put together and camp trunks were not put up on shelves as requested. Really awful overpriced experience with no recourse. Picture below is of soda and pizza boxes movers left on my kitchen island for me to clean up.
Johnnie T Melia Moving & Storage
Mrs. Groten called in the day after the move to explain about the trunks not being put on the shelves and we offered to have a couple of men go over to fix this issue for her for free and she agreed to it and then called back about an hour later and told us not to worry about it because she does not want to deal with our men anymore. She did not mention anything to Rosemary about the bookcases not being put together but if she would have allowed our men to put the trunks on the shelves like we were going to do we could have made sure the bookcases were put together correctly but she said not to send anyone over there because she was too stressed out. When she called in she did mention that she had not been able to check on her potting shelves to see if they were done but said she would call back after she was able to check on them.
Also, Mrs. Groten understands that our time is on a round trip basis, not from when we arrive at her home and ends at the home, but starts when our crew begins at the warehouse and ends when they arrive back and we have double checked our times against the final bill and they are correct. The reason that the bill went a little over (and it was not $1,000.00 more than the estimate) was because our crew had to move several items more than a couple of times according to the decorator's direction which made the move take longer than the original estimate.
We asked Mrs. Groten what she is asking for from us to make her happy but she never gave us a direct answer and then refused to allow our men to go over there for free to make it right. We also offered to reimburse her for the food that was bought for the men but she said that she didn't want to do that.
We are sorry to hear that Mrs. Groten is not pleased with our services, but our men worked for 23 hours for her over the course of 2 days.
